Meeting a relative or accompanying a clinic visitor
Help someone find an entrance or companion with a simple invitation, photos, a backup meeting point and realistic expectations of GPS.
Start with a clear landmark
You do not have to be a taxi driver to arrange a personal meeting. You might meet a relative at a station, hospital or hotel. Agree on a specific entrance, building or information desk, a time and a backup contact. Check the institution's rules: access to a department and any formal assistance arrangements are determined by the institution, not the app.
Help the participant open the invitation in advance
The greeter creates a meeting and sends a link or QR code. If using a phone is difficult for the participant, check together how to open the invitation, recognize the greeter's photo and choose a language. Do not enable hidden tracking: the person should understand who receives their location and for how long.
Do not rely solely on the map
GPS does not reliably identify a floor, ward or doorway inside a hospital. Follow signs and ask the information desk for help. Agree on where to wait if internet access or the phone battery runs out. Location is a helpful clue, not a safety guarantee. Do not add diagnoses, medical records or other health information to the meeting description.
Free meetings and the service's limits
The free plan is intended for occasional meetings: 3 per month, with one active at a time. Conditions are listed on the plans page. Photos help people recognize each other but do not verify identity. Closer does not provide medical care, replace an institution's assistance service or act as an emergency service. In a life-threatening situation, contact local emergency services. Stop location sharing when the meeting is complete.
