How to meet at the airport with fewer calls
Agree on a terminal and exit, send an invitation and find each other using participant photos and temporary location sharing in Closer.
Agree on a meeting point before arrival
Specify the airport, terminal, level and exit number. Arrivals, parking and the permitted pickup area may be in different places. Choose a recognizable landmark and a backup meeting point. The flight landing time is not the time a passenger leaves the terminal: allow for passport checks and baggage collection.
Send an invitation to the right person
The greeter creates a Closer meeting and shares the link or QR code intended for the other participant. The guest opens that invitation, not a demonstration meeting. Add a current photo, name and description of the meeting point beforehand. Do not publish the invitation in public groups: it is intended for the participant in that particular meeting.
Start searching when you are ready
Open the meeting on both phones. To exchange updated positions, allow location access and start the search. Check the connection status and how recently the position was updated. GPS may be inaccurate indoors: an exit number, a photo and a message describing where you are standing can be more useful than a map marker.
If the internet connection drops
GPS can determine a phone's position without mobile internet, but sending fresh coordinates to another person needs a connection. Save the meeting point and a backup contact beforehand. Nearby Bluetooth search depends on the app, permissions and both phones' capabilities; it does not guarantee coverage across a terminal. End the session after meeting and check that location sharing has stopped.
